'Hokay. Things have been...kinda busy. I've made about 5 posts with this journal on SH and not a single one on my normal journal. Fail. My Grandma is here and she's driving me insane, but after ranting to a number of people, I dooon't see the point in ranting some more. Except for lulz. Because there would be lulz. Her antics are hilarious...AFTER THE FACT. >_>;; Why she found the need to stick her hand in that holy water at that wedding, I'll never know...
Modding. Whooo. As tiring as I expected, if not more. I hope I'm doing a decent joband not flooding the community with mod posts--scratch that, I AM flooding it with mod posts, but hopefully they're worthwhile. I still wonder if my inactivity post was a bit too harsh. >_>;; Me and Candice are runnin' our first event! \o/ It's an event where people are unable to make private entries and their thoughts appear over their heads in sparkly text. I know jack about running events, but this one was easy cuz people could just let their muses at it. It's too long, but...I'll just keep that in mind for future events.
I could ramble more about modding, but then I'd have to make this private and I dun feel like it. I'll just say I wish I knew what was going on with Quidditch. I have NO IDEA how to run it. I know it's more Whitney's territory, but when people are contacting me about cleaning out the Quiddy list and I don't even know if Quidditch is happening anytime soon, it leads to much flailing on my part.Any ideas for that, people? ...And I can't help but feel like I'm bothering the other mods with my incessant emails...>_<;;
On the flipside of things, Fakir has been a very active muse all of a sudden, and even Femio took some time out to freak out some girls, so things are good on the rping front. I joined
tutudressing and I think I love it for muse practice reasons, plus I feel like my muse is FINALLY getting some closure over the whole unsolved deal with Mytho, even if it's not really occurring. I've been kinda wanting to app Lilie somewhere for a while, and I think this would be a great way to try it out. Plus, people keep trying to drag me to new rps...*cough*
dystopian_flux *cough* and I want to see if I can develop another muse. Maybe even a non-Tutu one. *le gasp* I've always wanted to play Laharl from Disgaea and/or Dilandau (...pre-gender switch. >>;;) from Escaflowne, or maybe even someone from some other series I've seen and or read. I'd have to finish/replay Disgaea and rewatch Escaflowne to see though. ...Or maybe finish the Phoenix Wright games, since everyone's always raving about them, and play something from that. *strokes chin*
I'm also having suuupah lulz with Mozart, who plays Lilie on both SH and
epilogue_rp (yes, we're actually commenting there) and Fakir is about to kill her in TWO places. 8D We're having much fun with them yelling at each other in German. She affectionately calls him Dummchen which essentially "Silly billy", which he counters with Das Scheißkamel or Weibstück, which respectively mean "Bloody twit" and, uh, "Bitch" 8D;;; I'll probably post both places tomorrow, particularly epilogue; I want it to pick up, there were a lot of really cool people there! I was also very much enjoying some Fakiru chatting that they did over the fact they missed both of their birthdays. X3 Brought together by each other's fail, how cute~♥ I look forward to them going to Hogsmeade together--and having every single pervy thought Fakir has broadcast over his head in sparkly text~ XDDD
I have to compose a video portfolio for my commission, and they only told me TODAY and want it tomorrow, yet all I've been doing is wasting time. (And randomly, I opted not to take Voice or English summer classes because I realized that I highly value my free time 8D;;;) I should probably work on that now after some tags, then after that maybe wash my hair and work on that late ass English research paper on Kevin Smith that I got an extension on. >_>;; Baaaaah.

Ballet...right ballet. That...wasn't the way I thought it was, although in retrospect it was stupid of me to think it would cost so little for a month of ballet lessons. And after I told people, every single one of them was like "Ah. I thought that was the case. o.oa" "WELL, WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO?! TT____TT" I'm still going to go to them, once my dad pays for it, but I have to wait for that to happen before I can do anything with that. As another note, Sami sent me her pointe shoes for use during cosplay since they were too big for her and I'm a half size bigger, annnnnd...
*drumroll*

Sami's satiny Bloch Aspirations on my brown hairy legs. Tasty. And before you get impressed, my other foot was positioned out of the picture. No arabesque for me. Fail.
They were too small. 8D;;; Just a little bit, but...too small nonetheless. And since I plan on walking around in them and posing and going enpointe and stuff (with absolutely no training, gah hur) and those hurt just to STAND and WALK IN...yeah, I have to get new ones. People talk about how painful pointe is, but those shoes were so bad that going en pointe wasn't THAT much more painful by comparison! =D;; It was good to get them though, because I think have a better idea of what my foot is like (based on my terribly unexperienced observation) and since I'm going to buy a pair, they might as well be good for my feet. Long feet, short (in comparison to my foot) tapered (meaning, my big toe is the biggest and they all get smaller from there) toes, average width with wide, stiff metatarsals (that's the foot knuckle above your toes for those not in the know, gah hur), and medium to strong arches with inflexible ankles.

*steals bandwidth from some random ballet site*
So, this is all pretty Greek, right? Well, short toes means I should get a low vamp, tapered toes means tapered box instead of a square box (as many of seem to be), I need a lower heel so it doesn't bag up like it does in the picture, medium to strong arches means I should get a strong shank (which is the backboard in the inside of the shoe, and the part that supports you, essentially) so it'll last longer, yet a medium shank because I have inflexible ankles and no training to speak of. (Plus, I'm wearing it for a con, not actually performing in them.) Sami's shoes are also noisy as hellthey sound like freaking HEELS so something quieter was also something to look into.
So it's between two shoesthat I'm willing to pay for: *steals moar bandwidth*

Ignore the colors because them bitches are getting dyed black anyway.
Both have their advantages and disadvantages, which I've done extensive research on.
Sansha Etudes: $30, notably flexible shank, comes in either wide or normal width, comes with elastics (most shoes don't), comes in whole sizes, low profile (meaning, wide from a profile view of the shoe)
Pros: Low Vamp, flat platform for good balance, whisper toe so not as loud, guaranteed to not be too small even with padding (I'm a 9 1/2), low heel so it doesn't bag up, cheaper of the two, and (random nitpick) but I think these are more accurate to Kraehe's pointe shoes.
Cons: Square shape (designed for square feet as opposed to tapered ones), designed for people with more shallow arches than mine, site doesn't have customer reviews like the other one so I can't really get outside input, pointe shoes are supposed to fit snugly.
Bloch Suprimas: $42, medium shank, comes in B, C, and D widths, medium vamp, low profile (meaning, wide from a profile view of the shoe)
Pros: Tapered platform for tapered feet (me), flexible wings for those with wide metatarsals (also me), tapered heel to stay on better, same brand as Sami's shoe so I know what width to get (C!), aesthetically pleasing, look like they're better for strong feet, used the site before and they were good plus the shoes had imput from customers, good for lateral balance when standing flat footed (which i assume I'd be doing a lot since I'd be walking around in them at cons).
Cons: Verrrry small platform which is not the best for balancing (although, I'm not bad at balancing, really), vamp is higher than the other shoe, more expensive than the other, reviewers mentioned difficulty balancing (and I assume they have more experience than I do >>;;), and a few mentioned FALLING in them. Not cool. x___X;;
Thus, I'm still deciding. As of now, I'm going with the first ones (since, a square box can always be cushioned to put less weight on my big toe), but that may change seeing as the others seem better for my feet (with the obvious exception of the tiny platform). In the meantime, I'm still practicing in the other ones, working on my balance, staying en pointe and the whole deal. (Which is probably unwise, but meh, I want to get used to them.) I've since moved the ballet ribbons to make them better for my feet in particular (I had them in the same place as Sami's when the picture was taken) and I'm getting much better at walking and practicing in them. I'm somewhat afraid that I'm going to break them in soon (i've been practicing for at least 30 minutes almost every day, plus Sami had already broken them in some) and then they'll fail because that's the way pointe shoes go apparently, but since they're just for practice, I suppose it doesn't matter. (Although I was somewhat planning on donning them with my Rue costume if I opt not to wear my pink leather ballet slippers. But enough ballet rambling.

I probably should've noticed that earlier >>;;I'm really kind of jealous that you get to take ballet lessons. ;_; I wanted to take them at my university but my schedule simply does not allow it. >.< That and I'll probably strain/fall on my face/hurt myself because I'm as much of a klutz as Ahiru is when it comes to dancing. Still, I hope you have fun! It'll make your cosplay even more awesome I'm sure. ;)XD...I actually looked them up because I was jealous that Sami was taking them. They're open absolute beginner ballet classes for ages 16 and up that are offered 3 days a week in NYC and I typically take a train in. :3 You don't have to go to every class though, so if I go on vacation or something I can stand to miss a few classes. That bites about your schedule though. D: I had to shift things around just to take them myself. And don't let the random smexy Kra-hay-hay pictures fool you, I am uber-fail myself. 8DDD;; Either way, it's not like I'll be learning POINTE in those classes, so they'll just be supplementary. Maybe good for pictures though? *flails*
And thanks! I can't wait to see yours completed! ^o^
...Which randomly reminds me, I want to make a Duck plushy since good ones are so hard to find...The costume's already done. :D I'm just getting a few more things together like Ahiru's pendent. My mom's bring my adjusted costume up this week so I can try it on and see if it needs anymore adjusting. I want to take some pictures of it and my
gazilionprops once I have everything together. :3And I know what you mean about duck plushies. I saw a really good one but the tiny thing costs $20 o_0Oh, and speaking of PT,
because I'm such a shameless fanart whore XD;;I have a fanart I just finished for the Fakir kink meme and have posted it on my new fanart journalheck, I'm doing Fakir and Femio, but he doesn't count in June myself, so it'll probably even help there, after all there are mens in my classes. :DWooot! When is AWA, btw? I have Fakir's quill
somewhere...>_>;;, Lohengrin's swordwhich needs painting, and der Prinz und Rabe, but I think I want to remake the book to make it look better. I still have to make a tiny pendant for the Ahiru plush I want to make though! *bustles* So much to do...>_>;;;I SAW, and by god it's GORGEOUS. *___* It's so amazing, you seriously blow me away.
which is coming up soon! Squee! XD.Thank you! &hearts
my bathroom mirror is too short to show the entirety of the costume and I can't take a picture by myself XD;;, and of course there'll be many pictures from the con itself. ;)since everyone's always raving about them,and play something from that. *strokes chin* Ha! Foolish little fool with your tomfoolery!...And your...ballet, which isfoolishserious business!and Fakir is about to kill her in TWO places. HE WON'T NEED TO IN, LIKE, FIVE YEARS EPILOGUEVERSE. 8D But he doesn't know that, of course.
--and having every single pervy thought Fakir has broadcast over his head in sparkly text~ XDDD...You mean involving a de--*SHOT*And yus, srs business. >_>;;XD...If he kills her in SH...will she disappear in Epilogue?
LAAAAWL. Fucker, dominator of desks. That joke will never die. <3
Mostly likely, but Fakky doesn't want to end up in Azkaban over her, does he? He'll never get to go back to the desk with Ahiru agaaaain! ;^;
My first in-class essay type final is on Tuesday but from there on out it should be a little more smooth sailing.
Thanks for being so understanding. @_@
*nod nod* No rush! School comes first, yus. No worries. \o/
Yeeessssh! Come play with uuuuuuuuuus \o/You know you want toooo~
I had other things to say, but bah. Laziness prevails.
*roll roll* I'll have to seeeee...>.>;; *pokes muses*
XD Like you have anything better to do. Tell meeeeh~
DDDDDD8
I'm at work! *lulz* On lunch... oh god I'm full DX *continues eating*
Whut. D: *muses stare at*
Pffft, like you ever do work. >_>;;
I bet my legs are hairier than yours =o=
My question is did you take that picture yourself [htf would you do that anyway XD] and who took it? *in ur ballet class, stalkin ur classmates*
I do work! I worked this morning! And now I have to send out a few more e-mails about orders. This lady's gonna kill me DX
and got a big gash in the processso they aren't hairy NOW. HAR HAR SASQUATCH.XD Actually, I wouldn't dare show up at an adult beginner's ballet class with pointe shoes on, the teacher would probably bitchslap me for negligence. XD There's a random mirror on the floor in my hallway
someone meant to put it up and forgot, I guess?so I took it in that. Hence the dirtiness. 8D;;;Piffles. XD Go CC your work to some coworkers and surf livejournal in boredom somemore. 8D
XD They probably WOULD bitch slap you.
Do eeetTHAT'S WHAT I'M DOING.
Stupid CC'ingD< No! I dun want bitch slaps! I wanna be a DANCING QUEEEEEEEN~ DX
or you're a freakThank should have sparkled.
XD Yes, but I've had plenty of sparkling at SH, I dun need any here~
Sparklies~
even if I do say so myself~, so w00t!!I really, really want to get on Epilogue! It's just been too busy lately... but yes, it's a great concept and I'm kind of standing forlornly outside the having-too-little-time window. I do hope it picks up and becomes as excellent as it can be.
And dancing-related technobabble: cool. *grins*
I know what you mean! XD I'm a bit nervous, cuz it's kinda quiet, but I want to give it a poke, it could be great fun!
8DDD Ahhh, I could be wrong about all of it. *pets the internets* It's fun to look up though! \o/
Grandmothers are strange. (Although, I never knew either of mine, not really.) Yours seems to take the cake.
As for the toe shoes...you're nuts. I'd sooner learn to breakdance before blistering my feet in those evil things.
*yawn* And yes, RPing is fun...
...wait, pervy thoughts? *head snaps up* What pervy thoughts? Show me, show me!
But I'm glad you do!I have 3 grandmothers on my mom's side because of lots of divorces and marriages. My grandma...I can't take her anywhere. =___= We were in a chinese restaurant and she exclaimed loudly "I don't like these mushrooms! They look like tiny penises!" >___<
XD They aren't so bad! ...I say as my popped blistered feet stream puss into my socks. >_>;;;
XDDD Not yet! Fakir is going to go to Hogsmeade with Ahiru and all of his thoughts are appearing over his head in sparkles so...this will only end in tears. 8D
Daaaaaang. What'chu gonna do with all those grannies?
Tiny...XDDD!!! (Okay, no, I can honestly say I loled at that. I hope I didn't wake my mom...)
Ew. I recently got a bunch of blisters from a pair of ballet flats, and they only just started to heal. Don't remind of the pain!! >.<
But I wanna see! -_- You sent the call out and now all closet pervs are made to wait in heated anticipation? (Although if it ends sadly, perhaps I don't want to know...)
(No I totally do. :P)
XD They're nice to get money from? *is a terrible person* And yus. Everything with my Grandma is just...wtf. >>;;
XD Pfft. Lightweight! Get some REAL ballet shoes and you can complain! ;D
...For some reason, it went...differently and now the whole school has been blasted about Fakiru. (Fakir's thread with Matt here and Matt's subsequent post here. I lawled so hard.)
zura? )
